Amsterdam – Zaanse Schans – Volendam

This will be a busy day! We will visit the province of North Holland for some typical Dutch tourist sights.

10.00 – 12.00 Tour Amsterdam

Our guide will guide you through the centre of Amsterdam and will show you the most important spots of Mokum, we will take you along amongst others the Palace on the Dam, the Munttoren (tower), the flower market, the Waterlooplein (square), the Museumplein (square), the Rembrandtplein (square) or the Jordan with the Westerkerk (church).

Old-fashioned? Definitely, because we can also walk along the famous red-light district. If there is one place in Amsterdam where you can find trades, it definitely is here in the red-light district….!

12.00 – 13.00 Lunch

After the tour we will have lunch together in a typical Amsterdam restaurant.

13.00 – 14.00 Canal Boat

We will then get in a canal boat together and will admire the city from the water. You will be surprised how different the city will look!

After the canal boat we will get on the luxurious coach, which will bring you, your company and the guide to the Zaanse Schans in Zaandam.

14.30 – 16.00 Visit Zaanse Schans / Wooden Shoe Factory

The Zaanse Schans is a park where original green wooden buildings (houses, workplaces, but also the very first Albert Heijn supermarket) were placed and rebuilt from the whole Zaandam region. Because of the fact that the original windmills have been preserved and restored for the greater part, you will get a great image of the Zaandam region from earlier ages. Amongst other you will find the only paint windmill ‘De Kat’ in the world here.

At the Zaanse Schans we will visit a wooden shoe factory, where wooden shoes in all kinds of sizes and colors are prepared according to traditional methods (hand-made, from rough wooden blocks). Pure workmanship! You can also buy a pair of wooden shoes here if you want to!

16.30 – 18.00 Tour Volendam / Cheese Farm

We will then get on the coach again and drive to Volendam, where your guide will tell you everything about the harbor, the history of the eel catch and the beautiful traditional costumes. We will also visit an authentic cheese farm, where cheese is prepared according to traditional methods.

After having informed you concerning all nice things of Volendam and after you have bought a bag full of cheese, we will get in the coach again and go back to Amsterdam.

If you want to postpone the farewell we can end the day with a diner in a restaurant or in one of the pubs.

Whatever you want…!

You don’t have the minimum number of participants? If you are prepared to pay for the minimum number of participants, you can also book for less persons!

Can I book my city walk or event in a different language?
Holland Tour Guides provides you with a tour guide who speaks your language, or at least is fluent in English, Chinese or Spanish.
Is there a minimum number of participants for each event?
Yes there is, but you can book any event you wish if you are willing to pay for the minimum number (the minimum number of participants is always stated on our website).
Where does my event start, at which location?

Almost every group outing / event starts at a central location in the city of your choice. We of course will inform you about the exact location in due time. If you are still not sure, don’t hesitate to contact our servicedesk.
I am planning an event on a specific date, is any date available?
Through our systems, we can immediately check if your requested event is available on the planned date. If so, we’ll advise you to make a reservation as soon as possible in order to avoid disappointments.
At what time can we start the event?
You can specify this entirely according to you wishes! This will however partly depend on the chosen event, but in principle the event will commence whenever you want it to!
Can we also join guided tours or workshops followed by other groups?

No, unfortunately you cannot. Holland Tour Guides plans events exclusively for specific groups of people, completely tailored to their specific demands. For that reason, people can’t just ‘change events’.
What if the weather is bad, do we have to cancel

Definitely not! If it rains, we can provide everyone with a rain poncho or umbrella, if necessary we stay in a pub a bit longer for the weather to clear.
How will we travel from one location to the other?
Our tour guides will take you from one location to the other. You will always receive an itinerary so you will know exactly where you have to go.
Is my company trip or business event tax-deductible?
That of course depends on which country your business is registered in. In The Netherlands, all costs of a company trip are tax-deductible. However, only if these costs are “reasonable” according to the tax authorities. The Dutch treasury also states that 75% of all employees must be able to join the event. These 75% may however also consist of a certain part or division of the company.
Can you send me a brochure or price table?

Holland Tour Guides does not use brochures or price tables. We love to involve you in designing the ideal arrangement. Custom-made events, remember? That’s why we can’t quote fixed rates. After all, everything depends on your wishes and demands!
When do I have to pay my event?
Our invoices have to be paid in full within 14 days according to the ‘invoice date’ stated.
