Sightseeing Alkmaar

We’ll start the morning with a cup of coffee / tea and cake in a cosy restaurant, right in the middle of the old centre of Alkmaar.

11.30 – 13.00 Kick-bike tour Alkmaar

After the delicacies, you’ll go with our experienced guide on a kick-bike tour of the beautiful inner city of Alkmaar. The Oude Gracht, the Payglop, Piet’s Mill, the Grote Kerk and the Waag building on the Waag square; you will be amazed what you will encounter when you kick-bike and that you don’t encounter when sitting in a car. Our guide will tell you interesting anecdotes and wonderful facts about all the beautiful places that you will see.

13.00 – 14.00 Lunch

For lunch we will take you to a famous restaurant where we will offer you an excellent lunch.

14.00 – 15.30 Pop quiz

What are the names of the band members of the Rolling Stones? How do you dance the Macarena? Where did Robbie Williams sing before he became a solo singer? Sing the theme of One from U2. What is the name of Jan Smit’s latest hit?

Yes, not so easy is it? And these are, relatively speaking, easy questions… just you wait!

Holland Tour Guides invites you to the cheese city of Alkmaar in North-Holland where you can refresh your knowledge of pop. Your host and quizmaster is a fully committed professional in the history of hits! What he does not know simply does not exist! What is particularly nice is that he somehow also expects this from you, thus be prepared!

Our professional tour guides speak several languages. Please contact us for more information.

Reservations for small groups:

Do you have less participants then the required minimum number? If you want to pay for the mininum number, you can also book for smaller groups!

Can I book my city walk or event in a different language?
Holland Tour Guides provides you with a tour guide who speaks your language, or at least is fluent in English, Chinese or Spanish.
Is there a minimum number of participants for each event?
Yes there is, but you can book any event you wish if you are willing to pay for the minimum number (the minimum number of participants is always stated on our website).
Where does my event start, at which location?

Almost every group outing / event starts at a central location in the city of your choice. We of course will inform you about the exact location in due time. If you are still not sure, don’t hesitate to contact our servicedesk.
I am planning an event on a specific date, is any date available?
Through our systems, we can immediately check if your requested event is available on the planned date. If so, we’ll advise you to make a reservation as soon as possible in order to avoid disappointments.
At what time can we start the event?
You can specify this entirely according to you wishes! This will however partly depend on the chosen event, but in principle the event will commence whenever you want it to!
Can we also join guided tours or workshops followed by other groups?

No, unfortunately you cannot. Holland Tour Guides plans events exclusively for specific groups of people, completely tailored to their specific demands. For that reason, people can’t just ‘change events’.
What if the weather is bad, do we have to cancel

Definitely not! If it rains, we can provide everyone with a rain poncho or umbrella, if necessary we stay in a pub a bit longer for the weather to clear.
How will we travel from one location to the other?
Our tour guides will take you from one location to the other. You will always receive an itinerary so you will know exactly where you have to go.
Is my company trip or business event tax-deductible?
That of course depends on which country your business is registered in. In The Netherlands, all costs of a company trip are tax-deductible. However, only if these costs are “reasonable” according to the tax authorities. The Dutch treasury also states that 75% of all employees must be able to join the event. These 75% may however also consist of a certain part or division of the company.
Can you send me a brochure or price table?

Holland Tour Guides does not use brochures or price tables. We love to involve you in designing the ideal arrangement. Custom-made events, remember? That’s why we can’t quote fixed rates. After all, everything depends on your wishes and demands!
When do I have to pay my event?
Our invoices have to be paid in full within 14 days according to the ‘invoice date’ stated.
